I discovered a way to obtain drivers to make Windows 98SE operate more devices, including flash drives, USB CDROMs, etc. Borrow a hard drive with XP loaded onto it (I obtained one from an old computer no longer functioning). Connect it into W98SE computer as a slave drive or secondary hard drive. Then connect the device you want to run. When Windows searches for new drivers, direct it to the slave drive and it will load updated drivers from the XP files.

Win98 and WinXP use very different driver model, so I doubt this will work for each and every device you plug. Moreover you're picking Win98 drivers from places where original device installer has copied all drivers available.

[I have been trying for 2 years to get win9x using the MB D915 to do visual, and some guy at Intel says they should work but it just ain't happening unless I can write a new .inf for it. Go figure.

You're being asked to choose a best answer. Just pick one and be done with it.
