in the start when I got this PC it was able to run crysis @max with about 40 fps. now I cant even run tf2 in dx8 without dropping into sub 60 constantly, a game that ran at 300+ fps @max before.

I don't mind having bad graphics but the frame rate needs to be stable. I've recently played the titanfall beta(source engine right) and tested several things,

There doesn't really seem to be a difference in frames if I turn up the graphics, except "shadow details" which takes some frames away, now I am not sure how many frames goes away, since fraps only shows 60 as a max, it may actually be 300 then dropping fast down to 50 then back up again.

tf2 has an In game frame counter though, and it jumps between 45-110 depending on what's on the screen.

CPU also seems to be running at 98% constantly in tf2, but the same lag happens in titanfall where it drops down to 50 constantly, but in titanfall the CPU is only at about +-60%

GPU here's a little crazy thing to, when I ran titanfall with low graphic the GPU went at about 80%
but when I turned everything up(just not the shadow details), it only used 50%.
I can send the 2 log files that GPU-Z made.

Motherboard is entirely new, barely a month old, the same issue was still present when the old one was installed, so motherboard is not the issue. I also did a 3Dmark with the old motherboard installed which I can send, I can also do a new one if requested.

You guys got any idea what component is the party pooper?

win 7
CPU: Intel i5-2500k 3.3 quad
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6900 Series
8g ram 1333 (cant find the name)
motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme

after installing "CPU Z" I saw that it said the ram freq is only at 533, I want into the bios to turn that up, and I noticed it was allready set too 1066, my ram is a 1333, so I turned it up, then launched "CPU Z" again, and now it said 666.5.

it seems like somehow my pc only takes 50% of what it says in the bios. not sure if it's the main problem or even if it's just a glitch with the info, but I'm gonna fix it and see how it affects everything else, your friend got an asus card too?
