I recently decided I'm going to upgrade an old Pavillion (yeah, ew) and keep my 1TB HDD. Mainly going to use this for playing games at mid-high and doing schoolwork. I have an OEM Win7 copy installed, so I assume I'd need another copy (correct me if I'm wrong).
Also wondering:
1. Will I need to re-install all of my Offfice 2010 programs? (Got it via military discount, not sure if that makes a difference)
2. How do I go about reinstalling another Win7 copy (i.e. First boot after swapping parts)
3. Will Windows handle the driver installation? Would it be ideal to install them beforehand?

Sorry for the extensive amount of questions, but I'm a newbie at this. Any help is appreciated!

Solution
Because you're using Windows 7. When you'll put in this HDD in your upgraded system, it will work and system will boot with drive and existing Windows 7. You can then install new drivers.

Else, you can always clean install the Windows after upgradation. In case you are going to opt clean install then yes, you'll have to install other softwares as well.

Most of the times Windows install the drivers or atleast try to install, however, you should install the drivers after windows installation is completed.
