Hey guys, I would like to build a PC, with the max budget of $1000.

I would use it for gaming (BF4, watch dogs, etc.) and I would also like to record my gameplay as well as video editing, so to be able to render quickly would be nice.

I have a couple of requests/requirements:

~ I want a Seagate Barracuda 1TB. No SSDs, nothing. Just don't bother.
~ A AMD Graphics Card. I've always used 'em, and with Mantle just around the corner, i want an AMD at the ready.
~ I live in Australia so please change the setting on PCPP or whatever you use so the price accommodates.
~ don't add in an OS, I already have a copy

Thanks!

If you can go for this, then this would be a pretty good build for your budget:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i5-4440 3.1GHz Quad-Core Processor ($214.00 @ CPL Online)
Motherboard: ASRock H87 Performance ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($125.00 @ CPL Online)
Memory: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1866 Memory ($108.00 @ CPL Online)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 760 2GB Video Card ($329.00 @ CPL Online)
Case: BitFenix Shinobi Window ATX Mid Tower Case ($78.00 @ CPL Online)
Power Supply: Antec High Current Gamer 620W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply ($125.00 @ PCCaseGear)
Total: $1048.00
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)

It's a bit more expensive but an i5 is the best processor for gaming.
It may use an NVIDIA gpu, but the GTX 760 beats any AMD gpu at it's price point. You do lose out on Mantle, but you get shadowplay that records your game play for you.

I've done a bit more research and I find that I agree with you as far as the GFX is concerned. Although, I prefer power over brand, so do you mind checking for more powerful AMD processors? But please keep the BitFenix case, I really like the design. Thanks!

FX-8320: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/amd-cpu-fd8320frhkbox
ASRock 970 Extreme4: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/part/asrock-motherboard-970e...

The thing with AMD is that they are meant to be overclocked to be able to at least compete against Intel. At this point, since the 8320 and locked i5 are the same price, I would rather go with the i5 because it will perform just as good as the overclocked 8320 at stock settings and you won't void the warranty.
