there are a few programs I use for benchmarking. I use 3Dmark (this one will give GPU, CPU and combined score) Unigine heaven and Unigine valley.

it is recommended to run a HD 7850 or higher or GTX660 or higher for full HD @ 1920x1080. This is because the lower ones usually have a hard time staying in the playable range of over 30 FPS at all times with more than low or medium settings. This is on one monitor no more. You are doing the right thing by disabling the second monitor while playing to get the most performance you can.
Your CPU is C1 revision of the 965 which puts it @ 140W TDP. these CPU's were not as good at Overclocking as the C3 revision that are @125 TDP. Your best option is (IF you don't already have one) get an aftermarket CPU cooler and Over clock the CPU more. Maybe even OC the GPU. these will help in the performance issue.

Also keep in mind any background programs that run on the PC also lower performance so turn off any programs that do not need to be running while gaming.

Hi, thanks to all:

1) I just got a new CPU cooler and makes my CPU ru at 32ºc at stock
2) I got the Radeon 7790
3) My top FPS even at Borderlands 2 is 30 fps, Skyrim runs at 27 fps top (indors) 14 fps (outdors), average 23 fps at 1080p

I got a 2 monitor setup, I usually kill my secondary monitor and my primary monitor is a LG vga

low settings 1080p, but in case of skyrim Realvision ENB, I try not to go high setting in any game thats why i dont know why i cant pass the 30fps top

are you running other programs in the background? monitoring software? Have you tried to benchmark the system to see if there is a notable low performance other than games?

EDIT: 1080p is a bit high of a resolution for the 7790. have you tried to run a lower resolution to see if it helps?

By the way, is better to buy another 7790 for crossfire or just buy another GPU?
