Computer will not boot from hard drive.

HDD detected in the boot menu.

Diagnostics show there are no bad sectors.

Nothing shows on the screen after the boot menu is done loading.

Does the same thing on multiple computers.

I installed it on my main PC as a secondary hard drive and tried to boot from the working hard drive and the computer wont boot at all until i uninstall the defective drive.

No click of death. No spinning sound

I dont care about the drive itself but i really need to recover any of the data i can from the drive.

Any ideas

-how do i access the drive from a separate disk

-is there anyway to clone the disk

-what is the best diagnostic tool to use

-any programs for repairing some of the damage

So all i did was I got my hands on a copy of Active@ Boot Suite and I installed the active boot OS on a flash drive and I was able to copy all my data onto another drive.

Ingredients:
-the faulty drive
-empty high capacity flash drive
-flash drive with Active@ Boot Suite loaded on it

Good thing the drive was still being detected. I just wasnt booting on its own. Maybe i can repair the drive with the tools from the Suite. But im not gonna trust it for anything important.
