Installing Windows 7 OEM Home Premium

I have an old Acer Aspire T136, and I wish to make an upgrade out of it. Say, with new hard disk and motherboard. Even without any hardware upgrades, will I still be able to install Windows 7 OEM Home Premium over my current Windows XP?

i wouldnt bother with hardware upgrades as that processor is just too old.i wouldnt even be inclined to use the case.but.....if you add more ram(min 2gb,preferred 4gb)it will run win7.the drivers should be no problem as win7 driver foundation will at least find generic drivers.this is never going to be a lightning fast gaming rig but will run at least a little better than on xp.

Erm no, its not intended to be a gaming pc, just some normal usage for my Dad. So if i upgrade, the motherboard, cpu and some rams, it should run fine?
