Asus Z87-A Won't Post with 560 Ti installed

Mobo: Asus Z87-A
CPU: i5-4670
PSU: NZXT Hale82 V2 700w

I can get everything to boot and run fine with the iGPU with no problems. The second I try to plug in my EVGA Nvidia 560 Ti it will not POST and the CPU_LED light will display.

This GPU worked fine with the same RAM and PSU with my i5 SandyBridge and Asus z68-Pro Motherboard

I have already replaced the CPU and Mobo and I am running out of ideas. I have updated the Bios and tried setting the PCI-E slots to Gen2 speeds in the bios. The RAM is fine as it was also replaced with identical RAM and tested fine and works on old Mobo.

go to bios-> Advanced Tab -> System Agent Configuration-> NB PCIe Configuration-> PCIe X 16_1 link speed(try setting it to different values).
Insert gpu and test again.

All fans turn on including the fans on the GPU. The CPU_LED beneath the CPU socket stays solid red. If I remove the GPU (Any GPU) from the PCI-E slot I can get it to boot properly, run Windows, play games, etc. etc. using the integrated graphics.

@brarboy I went through this and yes I did everything fine. I have been building my own rigs for over a decade and have never had any major issues. There is no possible way I could have it plugged into the PCI-E x1 slot and all three of the PCI-E x16 slots on this mobo are PCI-E 3. And I have two 6 pin(with addition 2 pin) connectors plugged into the GPU. I have used this GPU with the same Power Supply in the same case with no issues. Setting the Bios to use PCI-E for the primary display does nothing as I can't even get that far in the boot for it to matter.

It almost seems like it has to be an issue with the mobo but I just got my brand new replacement board today with the exact same result. I am trying to figure out if there is just issues with specific 560 Ti cards/Haswell/Z87 that I am just not finding online.

Edit: Some monitors do not feature auto switching of input ports. If you are using a different input on the monitor make sure it is set to the right input otherwise you won't get a display. You would not believe how many people get caught out by that one.
That's the word i found somewhere :D
You can try that too.

Are you setting your primary graphics adapter to IGD "if primary"?... There must be a similar setting in the BIOS to do this. Put it to auto if that is an option.

Start your pc with the IGD and the gpu removed. then get into the BIOS and set your graphic adapter settings.

My monitor auto switches. My monitors are not new and would not prevent a system from POSTing.

I have set the Bios to use both auto and PCI-E for primary. It appears to keep reverting back to auto everytime I set it to PCI-e.

Yes. Still does not POST if I have a PCI-e graphics card in. Sits with the red CPU_LED light. I might have to try a new PSU or something. Mine is Haswell certified and works perfectly with my old board and this one sans pci-e card so I don't really know why it would have issues unless it went bad I guess. Its barely over 30 days old.

how did you update bios? you should have done with flash drive after formatting as Fat32 System Type and changing the name of folder as specified on your motherboard manual. Recheck if your cpu is properly fitted and does your motherboard show any Q-Code.

I updated the bios via flash drive. The new Bios is listed at the bios of the bios menu. I can boot and run windows fine when I take out the PCI-E card.

No fitting problems. I did an RMA on the board, same issue, then an RMA on the CPU, same issue. No Q-codes on the Z87-A just labeled LEDs. It sits on the CPU_LED with PCI-E in place.

I mentioned this earlier but I already set both bridge PCI-E speeds to Gen 2 and 1 with no change. Going to pick up another PSU today to see if for some reason my "Haswell Certified" PSU just does not like my components.

I figured it out guys. For some reason my NZXT Hale82 V2 did not want to provide enough power to the 6+2 pins for PCI-E even though it worked fine in my other build. It is supposed to be Haswell Certified so either it went bad in less than 4 weeks or it's just really finnicky with Haswell.

Bought a corsair HX750 and it's all systems go. Thanks everyone especially brarboy.
