So I'm planning to get a new processor for my pc .. *mainly gaming* and encountered many reviews and stuffs about this two .. Intel i5 2500k and Intel i5 3570k and I also want to try overclocking :) so what should I get ? the 2500k with higher OC rate and kinda cheaper or should I add a little cash and get the 3570k which is a generation ahead of Sandy Bridge and will it be worth it to add the cash ? Thanks in advance !

Sandy is a much better overclocker compared to Ivy. They are both great CPU's, you wont be dissapoined with either. I would however go for Ivy as it is a generation ahead and no other reason.

From my experience and the only sandy and ivy comparison i have to compare is i own both a i3 2120 and an i3 3220 , the 2120 sandy is easier to keep cool , it runs about 10 c lower on idle than the ivy 3220. So I would guess that the 2500k would overclock higher and be cheaper to cool than the 3570K, I own and 2500k i run it at a flat 4 GHZ on a 35 dollar hyper 212 evo cooler and i love it. I'm content with the 2500k
