I live in a hostel and everyone has their own lan ports. I have a wifi router in my room . If I want to play any lan game I need to unplug the router and need to connect my computer directly to the lan port. Is there any way I can connect to lan games even when using router
Also I cannot discover any local computers when using router.I hope you understand my problem

P.S I don't think this matters but I have a dlink 605l

We don't have a modem. I guess we have 300MBPS lease to our campus.This is divided between hostels and each hostel has seperate lan network. So all of our friends' computers are connected and can discover each others computers on the network. If I use a router I am having my own LAN (not connected to the original lan of our hostel)
