So I bought Microsoft Windows 8.1 - 64-bit - OEM from newegg for my PC I just built and just wanted to make sure it will boot up and install an OS like a fresh install on my new rig. I read that it should but just wanted to double check. Also I know OEM has restrictions and could someone tell me exactly what they are? Thanks guys. Mainly just want to make sure this will give me a fresh install OS.

I also have Windows 8.1 OEM, got it only because I wanted to try it out with my new build. Pretty unimpressed. Anyway the only drawback is that, for example, if your motherboard fails due to a blown MOSFET, or whatever, your copy of Windows will not work with a different motherboard. This means that you would have to buy another copy. I would hate to have that happen to me. I'd resort to Linux, lololol

In my experience, I've used OEM on two different mobos (after upgrade) and it worked without any issue.
