i recently bought a graphic card from a store..i have asked for 1gb graphic card...he has given me a product with lable 1Ghypermemry on it...but when i put in the compute..and run the driver and application...in that it shows memory:512MB...please help me

these things are mostly seen on low end video cards. Dont be fooled by those big words, "hypermemory"? they can call it quantum memory if they want it will still be slow. These are just marketing style to sell to those who are now familiar.
my suggestion, next time, get a better card.

to answer your question, similar to the answer above, it gets extra memory from your ram sticks. don't expect too much from it. you can give it 2gb and it would not matter at all

Dear what is happening here is that it gives you 512 MB from the GPU and remaining 512MB from your RAMs. You can confirm this by checking the properties of graphics card. This Hypermemory is nothing but to fool the consumers. No matter how much memory you share with the GPU, you won't get that much performance improvement.

Pl search on internet ask some pro before going for purchase.
