Battlefield 4 Freezing

Ever since day one I have had issues with BF4 Freezing, the screen locks up and sound either stops or starts to loop. ( Never happened with BF3 )

The only way I can close the game is if I use the task manager. After about 4-5 times of restarting my computer the game MIGHT work. After its working it never crashes again and I am able to play the game without any further issues.

I have attempted swapping video cards, going from a 680 Classified to an AMD 290 and the crashes continued so I ruled out the video card as the issue. Also I have since upgraded to a 690 and I am still experiencing the same issues.

I have performed a clean install of my OS (Windows 7 Ultimate) and the issue still remains.

I tried changing the clockspeed of my memory around nothing worked.

I tried swapping out memory and the issues still occurred with different ram in the computer. The only other thing that I think it could be is the Motherboard or the PSU. The PSU is less than a year old but it is the only thing I haven't tested aside from swapping mobos.

Only issue is I don't have problems running other games like metro:last light; cod:ghosts;etc However I used to have the same issue with Crysis 3 as I do with BF4 where random things disappeared in the game, like my gun sometimes does in BF4.

I'm starting to believe that is is just Origin based games that give me this issue, I was wondering if anyone else has these same issues with similar specifications.

Also if anyone has any fixes or suggestions for me to try to make my game work properly.

Apologize for the brick of text I am just looking for a more specific solution than what has been offered up to the public. The crashing is infuriating enough to lead me here to the forums.

Well I think all have experienced the freeze and sound loop at some point in BF4 although I haven't experienced it since the last patch. The few times I've experienced it I've closed the game in Task Manager or in rare cases a hard reboot was necessary.

In your case I would try updating to the latest Realtek Audio driver and/or update the BIOS (if not up to date).

Strangely enough ever since Bf2 the series seem to freeze up with outdated audio drivers. Go to following link and install the latest Realtek: http://www.realtek.com/downloads/downloadsCheck.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false

I should clarify, when I said I have to restart 4-5 times it is only because I have attempted to load bf4 again and then it freezes right away( I can access Task Manager to close the application). Restarting it a bunch of times and trying to join a server is the only way that it ends up working. I have done CPU and GPU Temperature monitoring and nothing ever leaves the normal range of temps one should get during this type of game play.

Solution
only works for ac95 codec. if you have 97 it wont help. turning off hd audio if its enable may also solve the problem even if its not being used its best to disable it.

So i ended up doing this :

1. Click start

2. Type devmgmt.msc in Start Search and press enter.

3. In the device manager expand cd/dvd rom drive

4. Right click on the driver and choose disable.

So far so good ill keep u posted... lol i couldnt even join a server now iv been stable for a round

have you tried new drivers for the gpu? also open the nvidia panel and see if you can disable sli (it should be checked as your using a 690... yes its 1 card but it should still register as an sli config. disabling 1 of the gpu's may help stability if the drivers are going wonky.
