I want to buy a Powercolor R9 270x Devil but I'm not sure if my 450W psu will handle it. I think it could, however I'm not 100% sure.

My specs:

Intel i7 3770 3.4ghz (Max TDP 77W)
1x8GB 1333Mhz RAM
MSI 7770 1GB
ECS h61 h2-mv Motherboard
DVD-RW Disc Drive
2TB
2 USB ports and mic & headphone jack.

This is the card I wanna get:

This is the sticker on the side of my psu:

I don't want to get a new psu so please don't tell me to get a new one. If I can't get this 270x, the please recommend me another card that will be a nice upgrade but that my psu can handle.

-Thank you!

Solution
Well. R9 270 consumes about 30W less than r9 270x.
It will run better with 450W, but the question is, how much or how high is your expectation from the upgrade.
If it is still satisfies you and you want definitely keep the PSU, I say go get R9 270.
450W is hitting the limit for R9 270x.
If you do not OC and if the PSU is from a very good brand, it should be able to handle it, but you will not have almost any more spare power left.
It is not that good to have the GPU and the PSU running for a long time tho'.

Ah...
Another card? lowering power consumption would be lowering the GPU specs and might not be a good upgrade to your HD7770.

What about the r9 270?It uses 1 6pin connector which my 7770 already is using, which could mean its just right for my psu. Im looking at this: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2gb-xfx-radeon-r9-270-boost-28nm-5600mhz-gddr5-gpu-900mhz-boost-925mhz-1280-streams-dp-dvi-hdmi-plus

I don't expect a huge improvement. I know I will be able to run games on high settings (Battlefield 4) at 1080p at around 50-60fps and some games maxed out at 60fps+(Bioshock Infinite). My 7770 is decent for me however I want a little more power. Also, it's very loud when I play games that are demanding. Also, I will be getting the MSI R9 270X Gaming Edition; do you think the right choice over the other 270's? It definitely looks good and the quality of it seems better than others.

Thanks for all the advice! :)

R9 270x is definitely better than R9 270.
Getting R9 270x is like a gamble for your PSU, good PSUs can handle it but if the PSU is not that good, wel.....
Remember, 450W is really at limit for R9 270x. (Important!)
You will notice if the PSU is not strong enough anyway e.g. system instability, etc.

and about the MSI R9 270x..I would simply grab the cheapest R9 270x 2GB I can find, I tend to ignore the brand :)

So do you think I should get the R9 270x instead of 270? Also does it matter how many fans it's got? Does it make much difference in power consumption? Which 270x will be the least power consuming, or are they all the same( by which I mean like the MSI one or the XFX etc.)? How would I spot system instability and look at the gayzo link in the thread; it shows my psu, can you tell me if it's good or not? I can't really tell. I bought this computer pre-built. It's not custom, which means the psu might be crappy :/ The make of this computer is Advent.

Hahahahahaha....Yup! the PSU might crappy...most likely crappy
Now I have even doubts if the PSU can even hold R9 270.
R9 270x is thus very risky.
Well..that is your typical pre-build PC problems, you are buying sick cat in a sack with premium price.
and..no info about the PSU (also typical for pre-built), I doubt if it is from high quality.

R9 270x is really more powerful than R9 270, performance-wise, I would take R9 270x.
The power consumption between R9 270x cards are minimal, you can simply ignore the difference.

If your PSU can not give enough juice, you will for example get crashes inside games, etc. like said..you will notice it ^^

well, usually, prebuilt PC are made to be not upgradeable from the PSU point of view (gosh I hate pre-builts).

The only thing you can do is simply get what you really want and see if problems appear, if problems do appear upgrade the PSU ASAP :D

Okay, thanks for all the help! I might stick to the r9 270. The 270x only gets like 5 more frames so it doesn't matter that much; to me anyway. I really think that the MSI R9 270 Gaming Edition is the best upgrade from a 7770 I can get considering my power limits. It only costs £130/$217 so I think the upgrade is worth it as I don't want to get a new psu (at least not now).
