is this a good amd build

Solution
roxas has a valid point. an i5-4670k completely overpowers even a fx-8350. the fx can be brought up to i5 levels for sure however realize that you can overclock the i5 too. its a proven fact that in games where the 8250 stutters the i5-4670k works fine. i've yet to hear of the opposite (you are free to provide links though if you know of such a case).

is the 8350 a bad choice for gaming? no it works well enough although for this budget with a bit of tweaking an i5 could be substituted in and will be a better choice for high end.

i agree with a 770.. great card however i'm not sure if the op was going to go for mantle with the amd cpu and amd gpu. that is something to think about and might sway things one way or the other.

Instead of spending an arm and a leg on cooling, who not just get a 4670k or a 4770k and regular cooling since you don't have to worry about moving anywhere near as much heat around? Plus, as an added bonus you'd have a much better computer.

Looks really good, i'm assuming you'll be putting a reasonable overclock on your cpu so it'll kick a 4670k's butt. You could go with 770 but it really depends on what you'll be using the pc for and as it says in the title this is an amd build

cough cough, keep telling yourself that. No amount of overclock will help a 8350 beat a i5 4670k in games

Haha, depends on the game

with mantle to think about it might make sense for the 8350+280x instead of an i5-4670k+770. perhaps. honestly my personal choice would be intel+nvidia but its the ops build and their own choice (which they specified was amd)

assuming the cpu+gpu are going to be what they are and a change isnt possible its not a bad build. (in any case intel would cost $100-150usd more)

as i said there are a few dollars (well in this case pounds..) to be saved here or there but as is the build is solid and offers extra power in case of a CF solution in the future. since they have an aftermarket cooler and a 990fx board they are capable of o/c the cpu just a bit as well if they so wanted.
