I have TWC for internet and a Netgear router (roughly 6yrs old). I have a basic kindle, nokia cell with wifi calling, roku and Mac laptop. Laptop keeps dropping connection and then I have trouble re-connecting. Network either doesn't show up or the address doesn't send. Other devices will connect w/o any problem. Do I need a new router? Is something wrong with my computer? TWC says nothing wrong with signal. I'm a bit of a tech idiot so plain language is very much appreciated. Thanks!

Unplugging modem and router sometimes works, but not always.
Yes, I can get a connection using the cable (ethernet, correct?)

Do you think it's an interference issue? Modem, router, tv, and roku are all within about 5 feet of each other.
More info I should have mentioned - I have internet through TWC, but not cable TV. I use a Leaf antenna, which again is within 5-6 feet of all the stuff mentioned above.

Thanks I appreciate the help. Paid Net Gear $40 for phone help and the solution only worked for a day.

Netgear said my firmware was up-to-date when I did phone support.
Router is NetGear WNR1000 purchased circa 2009
