Right now I have 3d surround monitors with resolution 5760 x 1080 my gtx580's in sli can't handle the load when playing bf4(2d surround) maxed out and I cant play anything in 3d surround, I'm also a maya and zbrush modeler animator. My question is do I go with 2 gtx 780 ti in sli or 3 gtx 770 4gb in tri sli... ? I have a 1100 watt psu .. its 200$ more for the 780's, its 12 gb of vram vs 6gb.. Also is it better to have more vram for maya viewport?

2x 780 Ti will be better.

Vram doesnt stack in SLI, so for the 770s you will have 4gb total, and 3gb total for the 780 Tis, but 3gb is more than enough, even in triple screen.

There was a Tom's article on this not too long ago. Although it compared tri SLI 770s vs SLI 780s.

Pretty much it's given that two 770s > a single 780.

But once you add that third card and compare it to dual 780s, the 780s comes out on top.
