Hi there, I just installed a different video card in my computer and when I try and turn the second monitor on of off the whole computer crashes. Here is what is going on...

The video card is a Sapphire Radeon HD 478 512mb card. It has two DVI outputs and I had one hooked up to my monitor and it worked just fine. I recently got the cable to hook up the second DVI output to my tv's HDMI connection so I hooked it up as well. If I have both the monitor and the TV on and start up the computer it is fine and both work well. Everything looks good and normal in the graphics set ups but as soon as I turn of the TV the main monitor turns off and the whole system freezes. (I cant see if it blue screens or what because the monitor is off.)

Or...if I start the computer with just the monitor and tv off it starts up fine as well. But if I turn the TV on the fan on the video card starts going (very loudly) and it freezes. The primary monitor turns off too and the TV never shows anything from the computer.

Any suggestions or ideas as to what is going on?

I am pretty sure that it does...at least according to ATI's site it looks like it does and should. :(

hmmmmmm... I think maybe a clean install of your GPU drivers might help.
