Hi
I would like to take my current HDD setup and move it to SSD.
Im thinking the easiest way is to
1) install the SSD as a separate drive
2) make a disc image on the HDD and transfer it to the SSD
3) restart the PC and use BIOS to load from the SSD and restore via the disc image
4) remove and sell the HDD

Does anyone have any recommendations to making this easier, or any suggestions so I dont run into any problems.
Thanks all

You can use this Apricorn Sata Wire product. It says it's for laptop upgrades but you can use it with any PC. You plug the SSD into a USB port using the included connector. The included software clones the drive. You remove the HDD and install the SSD. Boot to the SSD and you're done.

I've used this a few times without issues and it's extremely easy.

If you want to take advantage of the SSD speeds you'll have to make sure your disk mode is set to AHCI in the BIOS. Is your disk mode currently AHCI or IDE/Legacy in the BIOS?

I'm not sure what it's currently in but it should be easy to figure out. Thanks for the response. It seems too easy. Take care
