Hey all,

I'm trying to overclock from the base 3.4GHz. I've followed all the guides and changed the appropriate settings in the Bios, but nothing actually seems to change, it just sits at 3.4GHz.

I'm using a ASUS Gryphon Z87 Mobo with the UEFI bios. Basically I'm going to the AI Tweaker tab and adjusting things there. I feel like I'm missing a simple step.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

That's what I thought too. When I adjust the multiplier, though, it doesn't change anything. I've set it to "Sync All Cores" so they all say 42. Clock speed still sits at 3.4GHz.

Actually I just followed that a bit more closely and it seems to work now, thanks.

CPU-Z now shows 4.2GHz which is what I was looking for. In the Bios it still shows 3.4GHz but i believe that's normal, right?

I have my CPU Voltage Override at 1.15V and the CPU Input Voltage at 1.75V. So far so good. Do you think those numbers are good?

Sounds good, thanks. I lowered the voltages to 1.1 and 1.7 respectively. Still seems fine. I'll run those tests though and see what I get.

Can you recommend ideal voltage settings for 4.2GHz? I'm guessing what I have is fine but I don't want to be running at a higher voltage than I need to.

Thanks again for the help.

Sweet. Just did IBT at Very High and it passed. Max temp was 70 C. Are these temps realistically going to be hit when gaming, or is IBT really extreme? From what I understand 68-70C max isn't too bad.

Alright cool. Well I just upped it to 4.4GHz at 1.15V, now hitting 75C max from the Very High test in IBT. Might dial it down a bit again but this is fun to play around with. My first time really overclocking so i'm learning as I go. I read that the 80C+ mark is where you may start running into problems so I guess hitting 75C is still acceptable.
