Hello fellow computer folks!
I just wanted to write this in, because I thought this information would be beneficial to people with similar problems. Just know, that I actually solved this problem on my own, just wanted to share it anyway.

So, my problem was with my optical drive, which is an Asus BC-12D1ST. It used to work fine, util a month back or so, when it suddenly stopped working in the middle of a task. I then got it to work every once in a while, but thats not very reliable, so I did some research. I thought the problem was with the driver, so I tried reinstalling it, and that didnt work either.

I also spent some time in my BIOS looking for options, but couldn't really find anything useful.

After a lot of frustration, I reinstalled Windows on my computer.(I used the renew your computer thing feature in Windows 8). That didnt do the trick either, so I opened my computer and went to look for any physical faults. I couldnt find anything, the cables looked intact, both the power supply and the SATA. However, I figured I would swap out the SATA for a longer one, because it was a bit strung. So I did, and I put in in a different SATA port on my motherboard. This actually did the trick, alltough I dont have any idea why it did..

Best regards Even.
