Hi, new build

Have installed everything and first time powering up the fans all start but the motherboard won't post. Its displaying a q code 00. The cpu led is staying a solid red. This is the 2nd time now as I previously had the same issue with an MSI z87-gd65 mobo. The bios version is v1.02 so should support the 4770k. Been thinking of replacing the CPU or maybe the power supply although the psu has been tested by a pc repair shop who say that its running fine. If anyone has any other sugestions that'd be great

Thanks

If you know anyone else that has a working computer with a z87 board then try putting your cpu into it and see if it works. It sounds like you have a bad cpu if you put it in two different boards and it doesn't work. Or take the cpu to a repair shop and have them test it on a working board.

Crazy wha power supply you using? While you're at it, what are the specs altogether? Faalin has a good suggestion to rule out the CPU as well.
