Which R9 290 is the cooler and quieter card?

I'm looking to buy an R9 290 but my budget cannot stretch above £320 (Where all the well known brands are) so I was wondering out of the 2 cards listed below which will perform the quietest and stay the coolest? This is the cheapest place I have found them but please point out any cheaper place/equivalently priced Nvidia card. Thanks

If you truly want cooler and quiter, Nvidia is the way to go. GTX 780 would be about the same as the 290. But if it's too much, and you don't mind taking a minor performance hit, the 770 is there as well.

The GTX 780 is too much for me and the 770 from the R9 290 is more than just a small hit. I want to buy a card and then not upgrade until I completely remake my system.

any non-ref would be cooler, and a Liquid Cooling one which would be quieter.
