my memory is rated at 2133mhz, but i can't get it to run at that speed. tried messing with BIOS settings, but the highest it let me go without crashing is 1700mhz.
my memory is: G.Skill Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133
and my motherboard is: Asus M5A99FX PRO R2.0 ATX AM3+
please help! i want to take full advantage of my memory's potential speed. if i try to run it at 2133 mhz, there's an error message: "failed to overclock..." etc etc
EDIT: here are the ram speeds supported by my MOBO: Memory: 4x DDR3-2133(O.C.)/1866/1600/1333/1066 DIMM Slots, Dual Channel, ECC/Non-ECC, Un-buffered, Max Capacity of 32GB

Solution
Prob can run 1866, if DOCP/EOCP or XMP doesn't initially work try raising the CPU/NB voltage to 1.25 and raise the DRAM voltage + 0.06 over spec voltage

What CPU, very few AMD CPU's can run 2133, generally some of the 8350s, 8320s and very few 8150s, best bet may be to look for DOCP, EOCP or XMP and enable that and try 1866 - and may well need additional DRAM and/or MC (memory controller) voltage
