You get lag when turning because you're loading new textures. Not sure what games that system is able to run but that system is way past its prime. Time for an upgrade.

Won't solve anything. You need a new system if you're planning to do any decent gaming.

Unfortunately, no. If anything it will just make things worse as the newer operating systems require more RAM.

You really just need to get a new system if you want to get decent performance.

As long as you already have a Keyboard, Mouse, Monitor, OS.... then yeah £400 would get you a PC a lot more capable than your current one.
If you wouldn't be building it yourself, try looking on overclockers.co.uk and scan.co.uk

They have a decent range of entry level gaming PC's starting at around £375. My nephew got his first gaming PC from overclockers for Christmas, think it was around £450 but it had a couple of optional extras on it.

P.S. As already said above, upgrading your OS on that PC is only going to make things worse. Unless you're playing old or very basic games like GMod, your current PC is way WAY below the minimum requirements play even basic games like CoD.

If I've done my conversion correctly, this should fit right into your budget.

ASRock Z75 Pro3
i5-3350P
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB
Seagate Barracuda 500GB
GTX 660
CX 500W Power Supply
Rosewill CHALLENGER Black Gaming ATX Mid Tower
Optical Drive

Let me know if I'm totally off the mark, or if you need it slightly cheaper. I should also note, these links are to a site that probably won't help you. I'm just linking them for informational purposes.

If you don't want to build a PC, that's fine too.

Hehe :D  Because those parts you suggested would be waaay over £400 in the UK. PC parts are stupidly more expensive in the UK. I regularly see some of your prices in the US and get extremely jealous and depressed...... and start crying and eat lots of chocolate :(

I've seen people posting on here about getting a 3770k in the US for $300. Which is £170-£175. Here in rip-off UK the exact same 3770k is near as damn it £300! Which converts to $490!!!! :ouch:

Well I suppose we have to keep our *Cough* beloved Queen in her Palaces, half million pound Horses and custom designed and made Armani dresses :fou:

Oh that's rough. Well, this has been very educational. I will no longer base my prices off Newegg.

I'll make a parts list with uk.pcpartspicker.com and post that in a bit.

Thanks for the heads up!
