Having installed Windows 8.1 WI-FI seems to be off and I cannot switch it back on. I cannot find a physical button on the computer besides the function key F3. But all it does is activate/deactivate flight mode.

I can see I do not have a light in the WIFI bulb.

My computer is a Packard Bell EG70BZ and the Wireless netcard is a Qualcomm Atheros AR5B125.

Anyone have any clue?

Try this...
Completely shut down your computer.
Power on the system. When the first logo screen appears, press the F2 key to enter the BIOS
Press F9 to load Setup Defaults and press Enter.
Press the F10 key to save changes and restart the system. When Windows loads, your wireless networks should now be available.
If that fails, try re-installing your Wireless Adapter Driver.
