how do you increase your upload speed for free with no programs?

and has anyone herd of this site: openDNS

Solution
Well...if you're talking to the ISP, then they do know what the upload speed is. It is in your contract, as a potential maximum.

And no, there really isn't any way to increase it above that, beyond a different plan from the ISP. There is no magic bullet.

Clean the junk from your PC, turn off services you don't need, de-virus. But it will never go above what they supply.

I believe it is supposed to do with your ISP provider. You usually have to ask them to uncap the upload speed so it is not limited.

Although, by looking at your speed results, I believe that could be the best in your area.

ouch I was hoping there was some config I could preform on my network connections like the subnet mask or ip change....

here are the things I know but would like additional answers. NOTE ty Keemann I didn't know I could call to uncap it =)

1.

Determine what speed your plan allows by checking with your Internet provider. The upload speed you are currently at may be the maximum speed available with your plan. If this is the case, upgrade your plan or switch providers.

2

Run your anti-virus, adware and spyware programs. Starting a scan of your computer might find potentially harmful applications running in the background of your computer, which can greatly affect your Internet connection speed.

3

Perform a disk cleanup and disk defragmenter. Both can be found under your System Tools menu. It is generally a good idea to run both the disk cleanup and disk defragmenter every so often to increase your computer's overall performance.

4

Change your browser. Many people have an older version or a well known slower browser. Updating or switching browsers may just be the boost your upload speed needs.

I have checked all 4 of these off....

Plan details are usually UpSpeed/DownSpeed
As in 10/1. Or 10/0.75
Those are very typical. In which case, what you see is what you get.

"all they know" ? They who? Parents?

As said....your reported speed is probably 'it'. Without a different plan/provider, there is not much you can do.

And they (if we are talking about your parents) are not 'absolutely useless' They are providing you an internet connection, among many other things.
