Intel Core i5-4570 vs fx 8320

Solution

Go to pcpartpicker and add up all the components, including Windows. Unfortunately, I don't know the case, power supply, or motherboard model.

$800 sounds fairly reasonable for that PC.

I do strongly recommend the Intel CPU because many games do poorly with the AMD CPU's. Here's an example:

(The FX-8320 would be just below the FX-8350. The i5-4570 would be right about...
The i5-4570 is a better CPU, but it also costs more. However, the i5-4570 costs almost $200 so at that point I'd say get the i5-4670K for $220.

If your budget was on the LOWER end ($600 to $700 or so) a case could be made for the FX CPU. I often recommend the FX-6300.

The reason for this is a good gaming PC (I'm assuming it's a gaming PC) is all about BALANCE. If you spend too much on the CPU then you run out of money for the GRAPHICS CARD.

*If you want better advice, give a BUDGET, say what the budget is for (case + internals + Windows) and listen to advice.

For people with a sufficient budget I often recommend the i5-4670K.

Update:
It costs me about $900 to create a build with the same specs you've listed. The motherboard I chose was probably better, but even with a cheaper motherboard I can't build for that price.

If you build with the AMD CPU you will save some money on the CPU but even with a cheaper motherboard you won't go below $800.

So that $800 build is probably your best bet, though again I don't know what some of the individual component MODELS are (motherboard, graphics card, power supply).
