Hi. I currently have an MSI NF980-G65 motherboard and a Gigabyte R9 270 video card. I just ordered another ASUS 270 and I am wondering if it is possible to crossfire the cards using this board. I know it isn't officially supported but I've heard it can be done with hacked catalyst drivers.

I will not be buying a new motherboard or platform (unless I can find a decent mobo for pretty cheap...like $40 or less after taxes/shipping is figured in). I only bought the 2nd card because I tried doing some mining after I got the first one and kinda got hooked, so I wanted to have a 2nd card that I can use to mine with and still have the gigabyte for gaming/browsing/regular stuff. If I can crossfire them somehow though I would like to find out even if it's just to run a few benchmarks...but also if I find that down the road that 1 card just isn't cutting it for gaming.

Again I won't be buying a new motherboard or new platform to be able to do this cuz it would just be a bonus for me, not a necessity. I'm not interested in buying a new platform until I see some official reviews of Excavator and Skylake chips.

Any help or info would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
