Hello,

I will start with my laptop's specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7-4700MQ 2.4 GHz

GPU: Nvidia GeForce GT 740M

RAM: 8GB (7.17 usable)

OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit

Well when I play games I experience fps problems and I don't know why. It's worrying than in a low-demand game like League of Legends I experience these problems. At first, fps can go up to 140 but after a few minutes of playing fps drop at 35-45 which makes the game unplayable. I'd like to notice that all video settings are set to very low(!).Does anyone know why this happens? This laptop is supposed to be playing this kind of games with medium-high graphics without problem, right?

Thanks everyone in advance.

Since it's a laptop, you could have heat issues throttling your performance. First thing you will want to do is run a good software test that really taxes your CPU/GPU and see how long it runs before it starts to slow down. Then analyze the results.

Here's a few to test your system:
- 3DMark11
- PassMark 3D Benchmark
- FurMark

Older games have nothing to do with it. Something is causing overheating issues your laptop/PC. That's the ONLY reason a game would start out with high fps then go down. If it were old games and driver issues you would have problems from the moment you started the game.
