NAS Speed Issue

I connected my WD My Cloud (NAS hard drive) to my Fios router and the yellow light on the rear indicates I am transferring at 100 mbs instead of 1000 mbs.

After contacting WD support and troubleshooting, we connected the drive directly to the PC Ethernet and speeds were flawless. This means the router is limiting the speed.

Of course, FIOS wants me to pay for expert support to help configuring the router settings.

Does anyone know what I can change to address the speed cap and get this functioning properly?

Thanks.

As per the specifications of the router, it does support 1 gigabyte transfer speeds. I don't know why it isn't automatically configuring as such.

I also clicked your answer as the solution accidentally.

You know what? I think this router might not even be capable of transferring at these speeds.

http://www.actiontec.com/products/datasheets/MI424WR%20Verizon%20FiOS%20Router%20Datasheet.pdf

That is my exact router and it says it is 10/100 LAN with support for Gigabit with a Gigabit Supported Interface. So I am assuming, as in interface, they mean my own frigin router.

– WAN:10/100 (optional Gigabit) and Next Generation MoCA interfaces
– LAN: 802.11g, 802.11b, 10/100 Ethernet (optional Gigabit), MoCA
– LAN: Future proof for Ultra Wide Band, Gig E LAN, and 802.11n

The GbE is optional.

I'd get a cheap gigabit switch off Newegg; should be <$20.

EDIT: One of these should do the job: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166057

Yeah, thanks I didn't know I can get one so cheap. I think I'll buy this one and call it a day:
