Will this mobo : ASUS A88XM-A Micro
Work with CPU : Athlon II x4 760k and GPU : Sapphire Radeon R7 260x 2GB
For playing modern games on pretty high settings... such as Thief , Hitman : Absolution, Watch Dogs, DayZ... Guess ill go ahead and add i only have 1 Corsair Ballistix Sport XT 4GB 1600Mhz RAM for the time being, gonna get another one of those in the near future to go along with it.
Thanks for the help guys :)

Yes it will work, the Athlon is Socket FM2 and the motherboard is FM2+, but they are actually backwards compatible but not vice versa.

The graphics card will be compatible too, as well as the RAM. You can get a good overclock off that CPU too, so you might want to buy a good air-cooler. You don't need anything too massive with double-fans, etc. Just something with a moderately sized heatsink.

So i wont be bottlenecking anything with this set-up and ill have pretty good framerates on modern to upcoming games?
and Thanks by the way, very helpful, I may overclock in the future but for now I dont have much extra money to spend this set me back a good bit with Windows 8.1 being $100 + a new keyboard

No bottlenecks, I've seen someone playing BF4 on exactly the same CPU at high detail with good FPS. Also the card is great, Sapphire makes quality cards indeed.

The R7 260X is good for medium settings at 1080p if you want high-ultra look into the R9 series or GTX x60 cards
