I have a Compaq 510 (Indian Version) Laptop with the following specs:
CPU: Intel core 2 duo T5870 (2GHz x 2)
GPU: Integrated Mobile intel 965 Express Chipset (384MB)
RAM: 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2 800MHz
HDD: 250GB WDC Black (WD2500BEVT-60ZCT1)
Mobo: Intel GM965
(Product Page: http://h20565.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/public/psi/h...)
Can I hackintosh it?
This is close to the specs of Late 2006 iMac model. https://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/imac/specs/imac-...
So, which OS X can I run?

Try Snow Leopard and then you may be able to update to Mavericks or Mountain Lion through the Mac App Store. Mavericks is free right now but Snow Leopard is the latest OS that came on a DVDPlease note that Mavericks is most definitely not free. It is a free upgrade for those who already own a licenced copy of OS X, normally by buying an Apple computer, but that is very different from saying it is free. Unless you already own a copy of OS X you cannot legally obtain Mavericks.

Right. So, let's say that I buy the Snow Leopard disk for $19.99 from apple store (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A/mac-os-x-106...). Will that disk directly boot in my laptop and start the setup like other OS's do? Or does it need a mac to run (like the web page says)?
