Anti static wrist wrap question

I'm about to build a new PC.

I've read that you can connect the alligator clip (anti static wrist wrap) to the computer case or the psu. Since this is a new PC, nothing will be inside the case or connected to the PSU.

Assuming my power outlet (wall) is grounded, do I just have to plug the PSU into the power oulet, make sure its off and connect the alligator clip on the PSU metal while working on the motherboard?

I'm asking this because the motherboard won't be connected to the PSU or be inside the case when I install cpu cooler, etc.

Another question: I have AX860 corsair PSU.

As you can see, it's painted black, where can I connect the alligator clip?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Osakalol,

Just connect the wrist wrap to a metal part of your empty desktop case. This is needed to ensure your hands have no charge of static electricity when you touch the CPU or the motherboard. And touching a metal case, with the wrist wrap or just with one hand is sufficient to eliminate any static electricity charge.

DO NOT connect the PSU to the wall plug untill you have finished all the installation work - just like you do not switch the electricity back on until you finished replacing a light bulb.
Once the PSU is plugged to the wall, it is not safe to touch anything inside the case. You could damage a component, which will be under electrical load, or you could hurt yourself!

Most of all, just be careful and is unlikely you damage anything, so enjoy your build.
