When I put my computer to sleep, the screen goes off and everything looks like it is sleeping, but the computer tower itself does not change. The fans (either from the processor or the Graphics card) are still on and I'm pretty sure my hard drive is active too. Any advice?

Try changing your power plan settings. Go to control panel: Control Panel\System and Security\Power Options. Then click on change plan settings (whichever one is selected). Now click on "Change advanced power settings". A smaller window will open and you should find where it says "Hard Drive" click on the "+" sign and set "Turn off Hard disk after" when the hard drive sleeps. Click "OK" and or "Apply" and see if that changes anything.
For your fans, you can either use software that you are familiar with or go into your bios (every motherboard is different so I cannot direct you) and set the fans to a lower rpm as the default. If you aren't familiar with software that could do this you may have to download it and learn how to use that particular software.
Hope this helps!

Thanks,
