Hey! I picked up a palit gtx 780 super jetstream :D and have an annoying coil whine while i play less demanding games such as fifa 13(in crysis 3 when the gpu usage is 100% it's quiet).
My current psu is nexus rx 6300 630w and i was wandering if changing it woud stop the "whine"?
The rest of the system is i7 4770k stock speed and cooler, 8gb kingston beast 1866 mhz, msi z87 g45 gaming, samsung 500gb sata2 hdd, antec 300 case with 4x120 fans.

Solution
If you don't mind the additional clutter of an extra cable then use two. This should result in a lower voltage drop at the graphics card connector due to lower current on each wire.

Are you sure it is the psu? it might be a fan on something else or the fan on the psu. If the psu was the issue, at least as far as providing good power, you would see the computer crashing a lot and the maybe even the blue screen of death. I would try and see where the noise is coming from.

i have no issues with the rig besides the coil whine and it "magically" goes away if i activate v-sync... i'm just wandering if, by any chance the psu is not delivering "quality" power, a change would stop the noise(actualy that's what is witten on my psu lol "stop the noise" :)) )

Would the "Seasonic M12II-620 Bronze EVO Edition" be enough for my system and some air oc for the cpu? or should i go for the 750w version?
Another option for my budget would be a "Super Flower Golden Green PRO 750W" which is between the above as far as pricing goes.

It's your gpu that has the coil whine.
What you're describing is a well known common problem.
You solved the problem by enabling v-sync.

As Linus stated you could try replacing the psu but there is no guarantee it will get better.
It could get worse as a matter of fact.
The problem originates with the gpu and the psu can amplify the whine.
Also the mobo plays a part in this.
I've never experienced this problem personally, but I know it would drive me crazy.
I've read a review of your psu and it's a good unit.
Seems to me it's an older unit.
If so,it might not be a bad investment to upgrade to higher quality unit.

Seasonic M12II-620 Bronze EVO Edition 620W ~109$ modular 5 years warranty
Super Flower Golden Green PRO Gold 650W ~108$ not modular 3 years warranty
Corsair CS650M Gold 650W ~118$ modular 3 years warranty
Seasonic M12II Bronze 650W ~120$ modular 5 years warranty
Super Flower Golden Green PRO Gold 750W ~ 127$ not modular 3 years warranty

What to pick from above?

L.E. @davcon & @ ko888 that is what i'm thinking :) and if it doesn't change the situation (the PSU change) then i will try and rma the gpu and see if i get a better card(although is a fine sample with 30 celsius in idle and 71 in full load and does run quiet either way)

Go with the Seasonic 650 and yes it will be fine for your specs.
i7-3960X Extreme Edition overclocked to 4.60 GHz

Here is Guru3D's power supply recommendation:
•GeForce GTX 780 - On your average system the card requires you to have a 550 Watt power supply unit.
•GeForce GTX 780 2-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 800 Watt power supply unit as minimum.
•GeForce GTX 780 3-way SLI - On your average system the cards require you to have a 1200 Watt power supply unit as minimum.

The OEM being Andyson turns me off it right away. It also has a weaker combined +12V current rating (i.e. 61 Amps) than a high quality PSU (i.e. 70 Amps).

A top tier XFX ProSeries 850W Modular Edition (Bronze) - (P1-850X-XXB9) that is made by Seasonic is only about $5 more depending upon if this brand and model are available where you live.

I don't have xfx in my country and i am kinda decided to buy the 750 evo from seasonic.
The 620 evo doesn't have support for haswell c state and i would like to have some headroom for oc and future.
The 650 bronze from seasonic suports haswell c state but has a noisy fan from what i've read.
From corsair i was temted to buy the cs650m but Great Wall oem doesn't sound better than Andyson :)) I does have haswell support. Also RM650 but for the same cash i can get the Seasonic 750 evo.
How about it?

Where did you get the idea that the M12II Evo Edition-620Bronze (SS-620GM2 Active PFC) doesn't support Haswell's C6/C7 power states?

On the lower right corner of this image from Seasonic it states "Intel Haswell Processor READY":

M12-EVO-Edition-01.jpg

The EVO Edition doesn't even appear on the link you provided most likely because the EVO Edition was released after that list was created.

From Seasonic's website.

i don't know what to think... if i wish to buy the 620 evo i have to problems:
1) does it support the c6,c7 state from haswell
2) can it provide enough power if i want to overclock my cpu to a 4,4-4,6 ghz?
