My home-built computer was working, then started crashing and failing to boot. Dropping to single stick of RAM worked for a day, then the issue came back.
It worked completely a week ago, whe i went to a friends LAN party. A day later it crashed when i opened Google Chrome. Eventually i 'solved' the problem by removing one stick of RAM, but now the computer wont boot with either stick. I removed everything except PSU, motherboard and CPU (+cooler), and got a beep code of 7 long beeps before the computer stopped again. The beeps havent occurred again, instead the CPU cooler spins for a second and stops (power lights come on as well).

IN Win Mana 136 Mid Tower Case
Sapphire Radeon HD7790 2GB OC GPU
LG 24x SATA DVD-RW Drive
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit
2 BitFenix Spectre 120mm Fans

Ive tried
- RAM in wrong spot
- Single RAM stick
- Resetting CMOS memory
- Checking power to motherboard

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aerocool PSUs are crap. First thing I'd do is get a new PSU; even if it's not the cause (though I suspect it is), they're something you really don't want to have in your system.

Look at a 500W+ PSU from the second link in my sig.

Okay. And any advice on how i can check if theres something actually wrong with the PSU? As in, if theres any point looking at warranties or something? Quite a new build, i dont want to have wasted much on it.

Multimeter or oscilloscope.

However, even if it's not the fault, it really needs replacing.

You could also go through this list, though I doubt it will help.

Don't know, sorry. Gigabyte isn't particularly forthcoming with their beep codes.

Okay, thank you. I'll have a look around, maybe test with a different PSU.
