Hi,

I have got two Sapphire R9 280x Toxic Editions Cards. But, currently i am using only one coz if I set both of those cards then its generating high temps nearly 90c-95c. So, I am planning to buy the Card Risers. Please suggest me which one is good from the below links.

Also, Please let me know If you have any other recommendations to overcome the temp problem. Or If you have any other better risers link then provide it Please.

EDIT: Below are my PC components List,

CPU: AMD Sempron
MOBO: ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0
GPU: Sapphire R9 280x Toxic x 2
PSU: Seasonic x-1050xm
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 4GB x 2
HDD: Seagate Barracuda
Case: Corsair Carbide 300R

No Case fans apart the built in which came with the Case.

Thanks

Both are, really. You'll be throttled by bandwidth, and the crossfire bridge won't fit.

Generally you're better off getting more fans and setting them up properly. Fans in the front, bottom, or side should be intake, while top/rear fans should be exhaust.

EDIT: If you're mining, you could try underclocking them a bit.

Check that they're both in the blue slots.

Yes, they were into Blue slots and I dind't see much gap in between those two cards.

The below one was running at 85-88c and the top one near to CPU was at 92-95C.

Currently, I am mining with Single Card and let the case open with the side panels. I am reaching the temps around 80C.

So, As you suggested how can i undervolt the cards, is it with MOBO or with some GPU utility like Trixx or AfterBurner.

Any inputs would be highly appreciated..

As per your suggestion, if i fit two 120mm exhaust fans in top, two 120 mm intake fans in side and one more intake 120 mm fan in front of the case.

Will it reduce the temps? If it is, then how much temp i will be getting when both of the cards installed ?

Currently, the single card runs at 38C to 40C when it is idle.

Can you give me some idea?

I am not sure about room temp..But, what i noticed from GPU temps when they are idle is 38-40C.

I have got only one front fan and one back to exhaust and am reaching the temps that i mentioned earlier by keeping the Case closed.

so, is it recommended to keep more fans? I will put more fans but i want to reduce the temps nearly to 70c - 75c for both cards. If it doesn't reach out to that temps after installing all the fans then it's a waste of money for me.

You might get better GPU temps at the expense of CPU temps if you move the rear fan to the front, with both front fans acting as intakes. Or have the second fan as a side intake; the point is pushing outside air between the GPUs.

I can't really guarantee any particular performance, as cards differ and enclosures can be hard to predict.

Wow...This looks like an excellent idea for me without investing money on more fans..let me test this by placing the rear one in front and see the temps...
