I just finished my new build. It works great! But no sound! It will not detect that anything is plugged into it! I went to the sound in control panel and it says speakers are not plugged in!
I need sound!

Specs:
Motherboard: ASUS Sabertooth X79
CPU: Intel 3930K
PSU: Corsair RM750
GPU: PNY GeForce GTX 660
SSD: Samsung 120GB EVO
HDD: Western Digital 3TB

Make sure your drivers are up to date. Make sure you haven't installed HD audio drivers for your video card (unless you want to run your sound through HDMI, then pick speakers or HDMI output source).
Make sure you are plugged into the green output jack (rear panel). If plugging into the front jack (normally headphones) make sure the front panel is hooked up to the mobo properly.

The HD audio drivers are the latest. The BIOS is the latest. The chipset is the latest! It just doesn't recognize it! I going to buy a CREATIVE SoundBlaster, here is the one I chose: http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Blaster-Beamforming-Microphone-SB1500/dp/B009ISU33E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1392907083&sr=8-2&keywords=creative+sound+blaster
What do you think!

If you have installed the HD audio drivers that came with your video card then through the HDMI on the video card is where your sound is going. If you aren't going to use sound through the HDMI then un-install those drivers and select proper drivers for on-board sound. I wouldn't buy a SoundBlaster. I had soundblaster 1.0 waaaay back in the early 90's and used it 'till 2001. I loved it but in the last few years Creative Labs' quality control and customer service have taken a nosedive. If you aren't looking for amazing 7.1 surround sound or doing recording then a sound card is overkill and a waste of $.

I disagree, But REALTEK doesn't recognizes that anything is plugged to it. It says that it is not plugged in! I'm using a Panasonic SC-PM07 speakers though a converter cord. If you go to the control panel it says they are not plugged in! When I plug my headphones in nothing happens. It says that they are not plugged in!
