ok, i need the exact psu model though to further assist. also how many years have you been running it?

Your GPU more then likely needs 2 6pin PCI-E connectors from your PSU.. the 8/4pin is for the CPU I believe.- I looked up your PSU.. you should have the 2 PCI-E connectors.. they should/might be labeled on the cord as well with "PCI-E"

cmos clearing is when you hardware reset through jamper or battery removal but thats not the case, since your gpu cannot operate without the additional power needed through pci-e power cable. i suppose this is your psu http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341018 and its an semi-modular, meaning some cables have to manually be pluged into psu and gpu by yourself. if you cant find the ones provided out of the psu's box, you have to buy a new one. something like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16812162036. you could try your local pc store too.
