Hey peoples.

I just installed my new psu a few weeks ago 650w then after a few days with it running sweet as it dies, the computer fans flicker for a sec when i try turn the pc, theres no beep and no start up, there is a green light on my mother board that stays on, my psu isnt faulty as i have tested it a few times. I am about to update my bios just thought Some one on here might know whats going on

Yeah they are all available to me but as i am poor i just got a the same brand as i did last time because it seemd reliable to me.
There is nothing wrong with the power supply as my flatmate has propper tester for it

Does your flatmate's tester provide a load to the voltage on the PSU during the test? BTW, MBs do not run on AC.

The only component in your computer that runs on AC is the PSU. Everything else, including the MB runs on the DC output of the PSU. That's what the PSU does. It converts wall voltage into the DC voltages required by the computer. Doing a proper test on a PSU requires applying a load to each voltage. Unfortunately most people believe that all that's required is to check the open circuit (unloaded) voltages. That will NOT give an accurate indication of the health of the PSU. Ask your friend which he did. Don't rule out the PSU as your problem until you know.
