7200 t0 5400 rpm

I have a hp notebook that has a 500gb @7200 rpm but it went for a dump. Can I install a 750gb @ 5400 rpm in this computer without any other issues

You can but it will be significantly slower....and as long as there both the same connector IE: both sata connectors or both pata/IDE connectors:
