Hi guys, I've had a little bit of experience building my pc, but I had a lot of help from a friend at the time, now I'm capable of replacing pieces solo but not terribly confident starting a fresh if I had to.

I know only a the basics of choosing new cards/cpu and next to nothing about motherboard and motherboard to graphics card compatibility.

I'm currently running with:
CPU: AMD FX 6100 Six core processor (3.3GHz)
Graphics: Radeon HD 6950
Motherboard: GA-990FXA-UD3 (revision 1.1)
RAM: 2x 4gb DDR3 PC3-12800 G.skill ripjaws i believe.
Power supply: 1200w Silver stone (couldnt find type)

I'm basically looking to gear up for the next few years of intensive gaming as I want to be able to play with the Oculus rift and Omni pad in the future. A lot of sites just tell me to upgrade the graphics card but I don't want to run into compatibility issues and such and If possible to lay the groundwork for oculus rift and omni I would love to get some pointers on that direction.

The games I'm really looking forward to are Evolve and Titanfall and I'd love to play those on the maximum settings possible with no trouble. Hoping to have what I need from between 250$-450$. Stretch goals are okay too!

Looking forward to some suggestions as to the what I should upgrade and what's a good item to look for that will suit the needs.
