Greetings!

After sifting through various sites on overclocking the i5 haswell chip, I just wanted to ask why the 4670k only has a baseclock of 3.4 ghz? and is there any way to overclock the base clock to about 4.2ghz? I currently have the turbo mode clocked at 4.2 but for some reason oc'ing the turbo just doesnt sit right with me. Is overclocking the turbo the done thing these days?

Many thanks

Dan

What is your motherboard? If it ASUS with UEFI BIOS its so easy to overclock the i5-4670K, specially with ASUS Z87-PRO with 1-click 4 way optimization feature in AI Suite III.

Sorry guys, should have said it in the original post. I have the rog maximus vi hero :) The bios seems very extensive. So if I disable the intel turbo boost then I should be able to overclock the base clock instead?

Disable turbo
Disable Cool n' quiet
Disable auto voltage

Then raise you multiplier by .5
Then boot
Then stress test for 15-20 min
If no problems than raise your multiplier again
If problems than raise your voltage by .025 and try it again
