GPU for 1280x1024 that can play Crysis 3 V.high 16XAA 50+ fps?

650w fsp Psu
8Gb ram

How much do you want to spend?
I think you could go with a gtx 760 or a Radeon r9 270x for that resolution

At that resolution theres little reason to spend beyond a 7750.

I agree with Cookybiscuit. I used to play Crysis 3 on a 6850 on a LGA 771 platform with a 3ghz xeon and was able to use high settings on a 1920x1200 monitor. If you are intent on keeping your current monitor, an AMD Radeon 260(normal or 260X) or Nvidia GTX 650ti boost would be all you need. The 760's and 270x at that resolution will run ultra on a 1080 solution.

Your FPS will be significantly higher as you have roughly half the pixels/resolution to power.

Check that link I posted a few frames up. Your platform won't limit you at all, just use the drop-down menu to select what video card you are considering and the benchmarks will show up.

I love my 4:3 monitor and hapily spent my hard earned cash on A GTX770. Performance is awesome. Would I go higher than a 770 for 1280x1024? Definetly not.

those two items are for 1080p setups not this low resolution.

though if you INSIST at staying at this resolution they will run every game you want, have a coffee and tuck their kids in whilst doing so.

in terms of cpu, the i5 4570 will be fine.

yes, rememer the i5 3470 needs a socket 1155 board(not 1150 like the 4570)

If you get the 3470 you'll need a different mobo to the 4570 though.

I'd look at the I5 4440.
