Hi all, after my previous post was unresolved I bought a graphics card http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1721000/dual-monitor-setup-problem-asrock-z77-extreme.html.
Anyway It came today, I carefully handled and installed it onto the motherboard (asrock z77 etreme6) following instructions in manual. I am sure it is all correct but after I booted up the computer there is no sign of the card. Checked and rechecked that it is seated correctly and it is. On the instructions for installation it says...

Problem: The integrated video adapter has not been disabled prior to installing the new graphics card, and/or the
previous adapter’s drivers have not been properly uninstalled.
Cause: The integrated video adapter has not been disabled prior to installing the new graphics card and/or not
having uninstalled the display drivers from your previous display adapter.
Solution: Ensure the integrated video adapter has been disabled through your motherboard’s BIOS or the
Windows Device Manager prior to installing the new graphics card, and that you have uninstalled the drivers
through the Windows Control Panel. After the new card has been installed, connect the monitor cable and if
required, any supplemental power adapters to the new card before booting up the system.

As far as I know the motherboard doesn't have integrated graphics just the processor which is intell graphics. Does this need to be disabled first?

Apart from that I am lost to know what is wrong..

Any help would be great guys!

Thanks,

Tony

UPDATE....

Hi, I disabled the integrated intel graphics and changed it into another PCI slot (both 3.0) rebooted and still nothing... Also fan on graphics card is running so it has power. Checked the uefi setup utility and PCI slots are showing up as empty even though the card is seated properly and has power. Checked with other slot and same thing. I also set the PCI slot as primary VGA in the bios and still nothing. Am I missing something or shall I take it that this is a defective or damaged card and return it??

Any thoughts at all?

Also just to give more background on my set-up...

Yes that was the first step, sorry I should have mentioned that, all I got was something along the lines of "NVidia graphics driver unable to find compatible hardware" when I tried to install it. I should also mention that I just disabled the intregrated graphics intel HD 4000. should I uninstall this also even though the GTX760 isn't showing up in the bios at all?

UPDATE:

I uninstalled the intel HD 4000 graphics driver and shut down to complete uninstall. I then moved the card once again to the PCIE2 slot and checked it was seated. I turned on and checked the bios and it still wasn't showing up, I booted up anyway but on startup the HD 4000 driver automatically installed. I was asked to reboot to complete the installation but I declined and tried to install the latest driver for the GTX760 and I got the same as above, no hardware found.

Thoughts anyone?
