I just built my system been up and running for about 3 days, but I recently came across this problem. I was playing a game and when I exited out everything was running extremely slow, like slow. So I opened task manager to see what was going on it said my memory was up to like 98% usage and my disk was 100% usage. I went ahead and stopped a few processes that were taking up quite a bit of memory and it lowered down to 90% memory and 1% disk... I figured 8gb would be enough to avoid things like this. But I don't quite know if the lack of memory is the issue... I do have a TON of background processes and windows processes lot from "Service Host Local Service, system, network etc" and a lot of other random from NVidia and "host process etc".

Any suggestions here? It shows 7.1GB in use and 875mb available system specs below:
Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.131030-1505)
Language: English (Regional Setting: English)
System Manufacturer: To Be Filled By O.E.M.
System Model: To Be Filled By O.E.M.
BIOS: BIOS Date: 11/11/13 11:38:28 Ver: 04.06.05
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4670K CPU @ 3.40GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 8122MB RAM
Page File: 8280MB used, 8033MB available
Windows Dir: C:\Windows
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
DxDiag Version: 6.03.9600.16384 64bit Unicode

Obviously left out display information, not totally relevant.

Anyone with any sort of suggestion to why this might be happening or if I just need to buy another 8gb, maybe just clear some processes, I dunno thanks in advance guys!!!

Images of most of the processes running in background and windows, still a few more below but I believe those are necessary such as; "system" and "windows explorer".

Again any help is GREATLY appreciated, thanks again.

Turn OFF YOUR PC

Leave it OFF for 3-4 hours

I SEE your using a ethrenet cable, Disconnect that

Then turn your PC on and see what happens

( I think its a virus! OR that Ma cafee is running a BACKGROUND SCAN!! Sine you are iur is discconected EXIT and shut off Mac Afee) Then see what happens. it might be back to normal

Goodluck! :)

By using CCleaner to clean registry and files and deleting and disabling "Home Group" that must have randomly appeared on my desktop; I seem to have cleared the problem up, down to 19% usage. I will make this best solution if I can so others with similar problem can check out my quick fix. Thanks anyways guys!
