So I have just built my new pc and all is well but I want some lights in my case, I'm not sure which is better, cold cathodes or LEDs. My second problem is, if I buy cold cathodes/LEDs, could I plug them into my fan controller to turn up or down the brightness? Thanks in advance!

I like LED. Less power, easier to use and do you want with. Cold Cathodes don't really fade, they need enough power to power the tube then they are on. LED's can be dimmed in a variety of ways and come in lots of colors.
