Hi

For the last few years I have noticed that my OS (Mageia Linux 1~4 64Bit) has not been detecting or loading the correct module for the controller below. I have never bothered to investigate this further as I have not had any (to my knowledge) problems with the connected drives. I am about to install Mageia Linux again onto another machine with the same equipment and would like to find out if this issue is hindering my performance in anyway. I have an Asus 990FX Sabertooth motherboard and have always had it set to AHCI mode as far as the SATA controller is concerned. I have one (1) HDD installed as well as one (1) DVD-RW drive...both are SATA of course.

Is there a 3rd party driver or possibly a kernel option I can change to enable this device or load the correct module for it? I would like to install Linux using the UEFI interface and would like to get this cleared up before doing so.

Tnx
