I know that's kind of a stupid question, but I'm going to buy a graphics card and the store has only got the GTX 770 by PNY. I don't really know this brand, so I'm not trusting it that much. The same store has got the Radeon HD 7970, which is not THAT worse than the 770. Is PNY a reliable brand or I'd better buy the 7970?

PNY isn't a very popular brand but I haven't heard any major complains about their geforce cards. Can you be more specific about pricing?

the 7970ghz edition is the fastest card of last generation. that said, its only slightly better than a 680 and from what i know the 7970's prices are still through the roof from crypto currency mining. the 680/770 should be around $330 and is a very decent buy. but the 670/760 is very close in speed and is much cheaper, around $250 and is a better bang for your buck. if you can get a 1000mhz+ clocked 7970 for around $330 i would do it but i doubt it. just get the 770, you will be happy.

I'm in Brazil, so prices here are completely different from other countries. I'm not sure about the prices, but the difference is probably not major. Costs doesn't really matter to me, I just want to get whichever card here is best.

Thing is: are PNY cards good?

if they are priced the same, the 280x is the better buy.

pny isn't the best but if you don't plan on overclocking then it won't really matter much. if your buying from a store and the card doesn't work right you "should" be able to return it and get an exchange from the store and not have to deal with the ram process yourself.

if you want the best possible brand for customer service then evga is the best while msi or gigabyte would be close behind. evga only makes nvidia cards though.

Well, there are pretty close in terms of perfomance. The important factor will be the vga cooler...
